Full Stack Developer

Los Angeles or Seattle preferred. Remote welcome.

Why this role exists

Brown Boots is an app monetization company, and GoKart is the technology arm behind it. We’re a small team, so this isn’t a narrow frontend or backend position. You’ll work wherever software can make the business faster, more reliable, or easier to run.

That might mean improving a GoKart workflow, connecting systems through an API, fixing a marketing site, maintaining our CRM, or automating work that someone is still doing by hand.

This is a hands-on position with plenty of room to grow. You’ll have real ownership, direct access to the people using what you build, and a clear view of how your work affects the business.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain full-stack applications, internal tools, and automations
• Work across APIs, databases, websites, CRM systems, and cloud infrastructure
• Improve reporting, monitoring, deployments, and day-to-day reliability
• Turn loosely defined business problems into working software
• Use AI development tools thoughtfully, with tests and real validation behind the output
• Own projects from the first conversation through production

What we're looking for

• 2+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent hands-on work
• Comfortable working across the stack rather than staying in one lane
• Experience with some combination of TypeScript, React, Node.js, C#, .NET, SQL, Python, PHP, or similar tools
• Familiarity with APIs, GitHub, cloud services, logs, and production systems
• Able to investigate problems, communicate clearly, and work independently
• Practical about shipping: move quickly, test your work, and clean up after yourself

Nice to have

• Experience with CRM, marketing technology, analytics, or business automation
• Familiarity with CI/CD, monitoring, security, and developer tooling
• Experience maintaining real production systems, including the awkward older parts
• Interest in building reliable workflows around AI-assisted development
